Final Stats

The Fordham Spring Softball tournament was cut down to just two games between Siena and Fordham due to weather. In game one, Sara Kinney threw a three-hit shutout to become Fordham's all-time wins leader, while three Rams each had a home run, as Fordham topped Siena, 5-0. In game two, two errors in the seventh inning allowed two Fordham runs to score, as the Rams escaped with a 3-2 win.

With the sweep, Fordham is now 5-3 on the year, while Siena is now 1-5.

In game one, Fordham opened with a pair of runs in the first, as Krystle Henry started the inning with a triple, and scored on a double by Allison Twarowski. Twarowski would then eventually come home on an RBI-groundout by Laura Klaiber.

The Rams then got a pair of runs in the third to lead 4-0 on back-to-back home runs by Allison Twarowski and Katie Davis, the first for both this season.

Fordham closed out the scoring in the fourth, as Trish Arno also connected on a solo home run, her first of the year.

Sara Kinney allowed just three hits over seven innings and struck out seven for her 10th career shutout. At the plate for Fordham, Allison Twarowski led the way, going 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, and two RBI.

In game two, Siena grabbed the early lead in the first, scoring a run on an RBI-single by Jennifer Griner.

The Rams eventually tied the game in the fifth on an RBI-single by Davis, scoring Henry, who walked and was sacrificed to second, but Siena regained a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning, as Rachelle Morales registered an RBI-single, scoring Jamie Walker, who had pinch run for Christa Fasano.

Siena brought in Renee Clavette to try to close out the game, but she gave up a lead off single to Henry to start the seventh. Twarowski then bunted to sacrifice Henry to second, but Morales couldn't handle the ball, leaving Twarowski at second and Henry at third. Davis then reached on a fielding error, allowing both runners to scored.

Fordham's Rachael Wiggins (2-0) went the distance for the win, allowing two runs on seven hits, while striking out seven, while Trish Arno was the only Ram with two hits in the game.

Siena's Tara Campbell got a no-decision, pitching six innings, allowing just one run on four hits, while at the plate, Griner and Morales each had a pair of hits.
