Swimming and Diving Spots Three on MAAC All-Academic Team

Feb. 8, 2007

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Senior Catherine Delaney, junior Megan Dobbins and sophomore Rachel McShane have all been selected to the 2007 MAAC Women's Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference Thursday afternoon.

Delaney, a freestyler, carries a 3.64 cumulative grade point average as a biology major. The New Hyde Park, N.Y. native will be matriculating to the renowned Albany Medical program to pursue a career in medicine. This has been the third time in as many years that Delaney has been selected to the MAAC All-Academic Team; a testament to her work-ethic in and out of the pool as a student-athlete.

Dobbins, a native of Huntington, Conn., boasts a 3.41 grade point average as an American studies major, as she has appeared on the All-Academic squad in back-to-back years.

McShane, a freestyler as well, makes her first-ever appearance on the All-Academic Team as a history education major, owning a cumulative GPA of 3.47.

To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. A total of 69 student-athletes comprise the 2007 MAAC Women's Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team.
