LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Five Siena men's soccer players earned recognition this evening at the 2008 MAAC Men's Soccer Awards banquet in Poughkeepsie. Senior Mike DeSimone, junior Anthony Tagliaferri and sophomore Steve Covino were named to the MAAC Second Team while freshmen David Bonzerato and Matt Turcio were selected to the All-Rookie Team.

DeSimone has four goals and one assist this season, including two game winning goals. He was a member of the All-Rookie Team in 2005. Tagliaferri has four goals and four assists on the season with three of his goals coming in the Tournament clinching overtime win at Iona. Covino has notched three assists while pulling the offensive strings from center mid.

Bonzerato and Turcio have both been impact players for the Saints in their rookie campaigns. Bonzerato has played every minute of every game and helped anchor the defensive unit at center back. Turcio scored two goals and has four assists. He was named MAAC Rookie of the Week twice.

Siena plays Fairfield in the MAAC Tournament tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Tenney Stadium in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
