Final Stats
The Siena softball team split its final two games in the Rebel Spring games Saturday afternoon at Osceola Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Fla. The Saints lost 4-0 to Wagner before downing Brown 9-0.
Jenny McNulty finished 2-for-3 with two RBI in the win over Brown. Jamie Piela was 2-for-3 with two runs, scored and Stacie Sueda was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI.
Freshman Courtney Brinkman picked up the complete game victory in the circle. Brinkman tossed five shutout innings allowing just five hits.
The Saints scored eight runs in the first inning to put the game away. Jennifer Granato started the scoring with a two-RBI double to left field.
In the first game of the day, Wagner scored single runs in its first three at bats and added a run in the fifth inning to account for all the scoring, Four different Saints had hits, but siena never could manage a serious rally off Seahawk starter Kate Eshelman who struck out four in seven scores innings of work.
The Saints picked up four wins during their week in Central Florida. They return to action Thursday at UAlbany.
