The Siena bats just couldn't get going Wednesday night at North Carolina State. The Saints were shutout 6-0 and managed just one just one hit as they dropped their second game in their eight game North Carolina trip.

North Carolina St. (3-6) got on the board early with a three-run home run in the first inning from Bridget Desbois and never looked back. Siena (0-2) could not figure out Wolpack pitcher Mendy McKenzie, who allowed just one-hit and struck out 10 Saints batters.

Freshman Amanda Filippazzo allowed six hits and three earned runs in four innings before being relieved by Jamie Piela. Junior Lauren Weingart provided the Saints with their lone hit, a single in the top of the second.

Siena will return to action tomorrow with a doubleheader at Elon at 2 p.m.
