Binghamton (13-13) used a six-runs seventh inning to turn a three run deficit into a three run lead and held on for a 10-8 home win over Siena (8-24) in non-conference baseball action on Tuesday afternoon at Varsity Field. Each of Siena's first five batters in the order finished with five hits.
Freshman Dan Paolini's first inning home run keyed a three-run frame that got the Saints off and running. Siena tacked on a run in the third to take its largest lead, 4-0, before Binghamton rallied.
Trailing 6-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Bearcats started their comeback on a one-out RBI single by junior left fielder Joe Charron. He later scored on a two-run single by senior designated hitter Tom Baileys, which tied the game at 6-6. Junior shortstop Jeff Abrams put the Bearcats ahead on a RBI single and junior second baseman Jim Calderone broke open the game with a two-out, two-run single.
Eric Mruczek pulled Siena to within 9-7 on a solo home in the top of the eighth inning. In the bottom of the frame Corey Taylor led off with a home run as Binghamton reclaimed a three-run advantage.
The Saints tacked on a run in the top of the ninth inning but left the tying runs on base when the game ended.
