Senior Jamie Piela tossed a complete game shutout and drove in two runs in the final game of her career to help lead the Saints to a 6-0 game two victory in Saturday's season finale against Canisius. In the opener, Mallory Aldred struck out 11 Saints to lead the Golden Griffins to a 3-0 win.

In the nightcap, Siena led off the first with back to back bunt singles from Stacie Sueda and Jenny McNulty and then loaded the bases after Courtney Brinkman reached on an error. Piela then helped herself out with an RBI groundout to take the early 1-0 lead and would add another run in the third on Piela's second RBI single of the game.

Siena would add three to take a commanding 5-0 lead in the fourth on an RBI single from Sueda and a two RBI single from Brinkman. The Saints would add another in the fifth when McNulty beat out an infield single that scored Nastasha Powlowsky.

Piela picked up her second win of the season as she struck out four in the complete game shutout. McNulty finished the game 3-for-4 with a run scored and both Sueda and Powlowsky had two hits and scored twice.

Lauren Hope went 3-for-4 in game two for Canisius as Juliette Bowers took the loss, allowing five runs on eight hits in four innings.

In game one, Canisius got on the board first, scoring twice on RBI singles from Cameron Norton and Angela Turrey. The Golden Griffins added another run in the third when Lizzy Gatto scored on wild pitch to give Canisius a 3-0 lead.

Aldred struck out 11 while walking none in the complete game shutout.

Clavette and Powlowsky each went 2-for-3 as the Saints outhit the Golden Griffins 6-5 but weren't able to advance a runner past second base.

Freshman Amanda Filippazzo took the loss for Siena, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out four in six innings. Filippazzo's four strikeouts gave her 102 for the season as she became just the third Saints pitcher to record 100 strikeouts in a season.

Prior to the game, Siena honored seniors Renee Clavette, Jenny McNulty and Jamie Piela for their four years of service to the softball program. The Saints finished the season with an overall record of 12-31 and a 7-9 record in the MAAC.
