Courtney Brinkman pitched five innings of one-hit ball and went 3-for-3 with three RBI to lead Siena past Morgan State 5-1 Saturday at the Winthrop Invitational. The Saints dropped their second game of the day 9-0 to IPFW.

Brinkman was simply sensaational in the Morgan State win. She struck out five and did not walk a batter, allowing only a first inning single in her five innings of work. Amanda Filippazzo came in and allowed just one run in two innings to secure Siena's first win of the season.

After Nastasha Poplowski got the Saints on the board with an RBI groundout in the second, Brinkman drove home her first run of the game with a single. She doubled home two insurance runs in the sixth. Brinkman was the only player for either team to post a multi-hit game.

In Saturday's second game, IPFW jumped on the Saints early, scoring three runs in the first. After a single run in the second, they put the game away with five runs in the third.

Siena will play two more games in the Tournament Sunday.
