Box Score
Siena softball managed a second straight split on Sunday, falling 8-0 to Youngstown State but topping North Carolina Central 5-1. The Saints are now 2-2 after four games in Cary, North Carolina, to open the 2011 season.
The first game was a rough one for the Green and Gold, as Siena managed just two hits against Youngstown State. Nastasha Powlowsky and Lindsey McKeever were Siena's lone baserunners, as the Saint bats went silent against Youngstown State's Casey Crozier.
Like Saturday, though, Siena would rebound in their second game of the day. The team's bats came alive to the tune of 13 hits, three each off the bats of Shannon Jones and Jessika - Jo Sandrini. Sandrini was also masterful in the circle, scattering six hits and not allowing an earned run while fanning eight hitters.
Siena will next travel to Baltimore for games against Liberty and Princeton on March 4th.
