Box Score
Siena managed just two hits Saturday in falling to UMBC 6-1 on the second day of action at the Retriever Classic in Baltimore. The host Retrievers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings of play and were able to cruise from there.
The Saints (3-4) saw no hits through three innings, while the Retriever bats came alive. Siena's lone run came in the fourth, when freshman Jessika - Jo Sandrini tripled to break up the no-hitter and scored on a Courtney Brinkman sacrifice fly. That got the Saints within three runs, but the team's offense from that point forward consisted of a lone single by freshman Samantha Ray.
Siena will end the Retriever Classic with a 9:30 a.m. game against Mount St. Mary's.
