Softball's Offense Stymied By Sacred Heart

March 15, 2013

Box Score

After a 29-run output yesterday, Siena's offense was stymied by Sacred Heart's (6-8) Nicole Sidor. The reigning NEC Player of the Week scattered just four hits and struck out seven in the win.

Siena (2-8) fell behind in the first inning when Kate Nadler singled up the middle scoring Sidor. The duo would account for another RBI single in the third, right before Justine Sibthorp added a two run single.

Siena looked like they could rally in the top of the sixth, loading the bases after Lauren Milligan singled, Paige Lloyd doubled, and Jordan Sandrini walked. Sidor would only allow one run in the frame, hitting Jessika-Jo Sanrini with a pitch, but then forced Megan Volz to ground out.

Antonia Edwards would come into relief for the Saints and worked three and two-thirds innings surrendering just four hits and struck out a career-high four batters.

The second game against Hampton was cancelled.
