Nov. 13, 2014 Siena Soccer freshmen Alexander Tejera and Josh Weiss earned yearly MAAC honors at the conference's postseason awards banquet in Hamden, Conn. Tejera was named to the All-MAAC Second Team, while both he and Weiss were selected to the conference's All-Rookie Team. Tejera was the only unanimous selection to the MAAC All-Rookie Team.
Tejera, who was previously named the MAAC Freshman of the Year by College Sports Madness, led the Saints in scoring (15), goals (six) and game-winning goals (three). A two-time MAAC and ECAC Rookie of the Week, the Ossining, N.Y. native currently leads all conference freshmen in game-winning goals while ranking second in both points and goals.
A native of Hicksville, N.Y., Weiss started all 20 games between the pipes for the Saints this fall. A two-time MAAC and ECAC Defensive Player of the Week, he posted a 1.09 goals against average and .780 save percentage and his six shutouts were just one shy of tying the program's single season record.
