Siena softball only managed one hit against Carly Argyle in the 5-0 loss to the Iona Gaels on Saturday afternoon in New Rochelle, N.Y. Game two was suspended in the third inning when Iona was leading 6-3.
Melanie Kalesse recorded the Saints only hit when she led off the top of the fourth with a first pitch single through the shortstop. The Saints offense was stagnant with nine strikeouts on the day.
Game two was suspended in the third inning due to heavy rain. Iona led the Saints 6-3 at the time the game was called.
Siena is now 23-19, 8-3 and will travel to play at first place Fairfield tomorrow for a doubleheader.
