Michigan completed a four-game sweep of Siena Sunday in Port St. Lucie, Fla., rallying from 3-0 down to take a tight opener 6-4 and cruising to an 11-0 victory in the backend of a doubleheader.
Game 1 - Michigan 6, Siena 4
Freshman Joe Drpich gave Siena a 2-0 lead with a two-run single to center in the first inning, and last year's MAAC Tournament here Taylor Ahearn allowed just one hit over three scoreless innings, but Michigan used a five-run fifth to rally for a 6-4 victory.
Dave Hoffmann was 3-for-4 with two RBI and his second home run of the season for Siena. His RBI single in the third gave the Saints a 3-0 lead, but Siena left the bases loaded with one out, and Michigan made its move an inning later.
Jackson Glines and Cody Bruder each drove home two runs in the Wolverines five-run fifth. They tacked on a run in the sixth to take a 6-3 lead and Hoffmann's home run in the seventh accounted for the final 6-4 margin.
Jackson Limb got the win in relief for Michigan and Jacob Cronenworth picked up the two-inning save.
Drpich and Justin Esquerra each had two hits for Siena.
Game 2 - Michigan 11, Siena 0
Brett Adcock went the distance and allowed just two hits in a seven inning shutout for Michigan.
The Wolverines pounded out 12 hits against eight different Siena pitchers.
Leadoff man Dan Swain had both hits for Siena.
Michigan scored three times in the first, once in the second, twice in the fourth, and busted the game open with a five-run sixth.
Glines was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI and Bruder was 2-for-4 with three RBI for the Wolverines.
Siena returns to action at Illinois-Chicago next weekend.
