Siena split its baseball doubleheader with MAC power Ohio (10-5) Saturday, dropping the opener 4-3 before rallying to win the nightcap 7-3. Freshman Joe Drpich homered twice and drove in five runs in the nightcap for the Saints.
"The kids played really well," Siena coach Tony Rossi said. "Our pitching was excellent, and the hitting seems to be coming around. We are getting some surprising long balls, and we did it against a really good ball club."
Game 1 - Ohio 4, Siena 3
Brian Fay launched a two run homer in the fourth to put the Saints on the board first, but Ohio scored four unanswered runs and held on for a 4-3 win in the series opener.
