April 19, 2015 Game One Final Stats | Game Two Final Stats
After sweeping Canisius Saturday, Siena Softball literally got right on the bus to travel to Niagara for a doubleheader with the Purple Eagles. The Saints dropped the first game 2-1 before bouncing back to win game two 4-1. With hits in both games today senior Paige Lloyd's hitting streak reached 10 games.
In game one the Saints (13-19-1,7-5) out-hit the Purple Eagles 11-5, but left 10 runners on base, including three to end the game. They scored their lone run of the game in the sixth inning on an Alyssa Lancaster RBI single, scoring Lloyd to tie the game at 1. Niagara (2-28,2-8) would answer in the bottom of the inning to pull back ahead and closed the door on Siena in the seventh.
Amanda Gatt pitched a complete game striking out two in the loss.
In game two the Saints scored three of their four runs in the fourth inning on a Brooke Taylor bases clearing double. They scored again in the seventh on an Abby Carpenter RBI double, before Lauren Butts retired the side for the victory. Butts pitched a complete game striking out one.
The Saints return home Tuesday for an out-of-conference doubleheader against Holy Cross at 2:30 p.m
