April 29, 2015 Game One Final Stats | Game Two Final Stats
Siena Softball lost both of their games at UAlbany Wednesday, losing 8-0 and 6-4. Sophomore Bridget Connors hit her first career home run in game two.
Game 1 - UAlbany 8, Siena 0 (F6)
Despite making good contact with the ball on various occasions the Saints were held to two hits, one each by Abby Carpenter and Chelsea Stout. The Great Danes got home runs from Vicky McFarland and Marlin Solano, and won the game in the sixth on a Maggie Cocks RBI single.
Amanda Gatt pitched 4.2 innings, striking out four in the loss.
Game 2 - UAlbany 6, Siena 4
After UAlbany scored two runs in the first, Siena responded in the second taking the lead with a four-run inning. Alyssa Lancaster doubled home Paige Hess to open up their scoring, and two batters later Connors hit a three run shot to left field, the first home run of her career.
UAlbany would go on to score a single run in fourth inning to cut the Siena lead to one, and then took the lead for good in the sixth, scoring three in the inning.
Lauren Butts pitched a complete game, striking out four Great Danes.
The Saints go into the final weekend of regular season play at 11-5 in the MAAC along with Iona and Fairfield. They travel to Hamden, Conn. to take on Quinnipiac for a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
