Game One Box Score | 2016 Siena Softball Senior Day

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y.-Chelsey Drew came to the plate in the bottom of the seventh in game two in a contest knotted at two apiece and the junior delivered a walk-off home run with 3-2 victory over Marist on Senior Day. The home run was her only hit of the day and the sixth round tripper on the season.

Game One-Marist 14, Siena 0 (5)

The Red Foxes limited the Saints' bats to just two hits while they pounded out 13. The road team scored in every inning in the five-inning mercy rule contest.

Alyssa Lancaster and Drew each recorded a hit.

After Marist got on the board in the top of the first, the Red Foxes came up in the top of the second and tallied six runs on seven hits.

Marist scored three in the third and two apiece in the fourth and fifth innings to give the team the shutout victory.

Antonia Edwards got the call in the circle for Siena. The senior lasted two innings while giving up seven runs on six hits while striking out one and walking none. Danielle Cacciola pitched the final three inning of the contest, allowing seven runs on seven hits. The junior struck out two and walked two in a relief appearance.

Game Two-Siena 3, Marist 2

Game two of the doubleheader featured no scoring over the first three innings of play. The Saints broke open the scoring in the fourth on a Sammy Smaldone home run to left center.

Siena would add to their lead in the fifth on Loryn DeFalco's single down the left field line to drive in Brooke Taylor.

However, the Red Foxes would respond. With a two run deficit in the top of the seventh, Marist rallied to score two and knot the game up.

With the game all tied at two going into the bottom of the seventh, Drew came to the plate and crushed a home run to left field to give the Saints' the exciting victory.

The second game of the day saw five different Siena players register a hit. Lauren Butts tossed a complete game in the circle. The sophomore allowed two runs on seven hits while striking out six and walking none.

With the split of the games with the Red Foxes' Sunday and a Quinnipiac sweep of Niagara, the Saints were eliminated from MAAC Tournament contention.
