Siena Softball wrapped up the EMU Madeira Beach Invitational on Sunday, falling 7-0 to Central Michigan. Siena starting pitcher Lauren Butts struck out five batters in just over five innings of work. Five different batters recorded a hit for the Saints in the team's fifth contest in three days.

Siena (0-5) had a scoring chance in the first inning, loading the bases with no outs after Brooke Taylor, Jazmin Ortiz, and Paige Hess hit three consecutive singles to start the game. Central Michigan (4-6) pitcher Rachael Knapp used a fielder's choice and two strikeouts to end the Saints' threat. The Chippewas would plate a run in the bottom of the frame to take a 1-0 lead. The Chippewas added runs on in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to take the game 7-0.

Siena's offense mustered just two more hits in the next six innings. Butts had a solid outing on the mound for the Saints, lasting five and a third innings, giving up four earned runs. Senior Danielle Cacciola did not allow an earned run in relief.

The Saints will head to California for the next six games. The trip begins with a matchup at San Diego State on Tuesday, February 21 at 9 p.m. eastern.
