March 21, 2017 LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Due to field conditions, Siena Baseball has announced several alterations to the team’s upcoming home schedule. The Saints will no longer host NYIT as originally scheduled on Sunday, and the Mar. 28 home matchup vs. Army West Point has been pushed back to Apr. 12.
Siena was slated to play a four-game, home-and-home series with NYIT this weekend, featuring a doubleheader Saturday in Old Westbury, New York to be followed by a twin bill Sunday in Loudonville which was to serve as the Saints’ home opener. While Saturday’s games will remain as scheduled at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. in Old Westbury, the teams will no longer play Sunday at Siena Field. Instead, the squads are scheduled to open what will now be a three-game series with a single game Friday at NYIT at 3 p.m.
Additionally, next Tuesday’s scheduled home date vs. Army West Point has also been affected. The Saints and Black Knights’ matchup has been postponed to Wednesday, Apr. 12 at 3 p.m. at Siena Field.
As a result of the schedule changes, Siena’s 2017 home opener is now tentatively set to take place on Wednesday, Mar. 29 when the Saints are slated to host Fairleigh Dickinson at 3:30 p.m.
