Siena Softball closed a four game weekend set in Baltimore, Maryland on Sunday. In the first game, the Saints bested Robert Morris 9-8 in thrilling walk-off fashion when Chelsey Drew lifted one out of the park to give Siena the victory. In the second game against host UMBC, the Saints fell 6-2. Drew led the Saints with 5 RBIs on the day.

Game One: Siena 9, Robert Morris 8

Senior outfield Chelsey Drew was a perfect 3-3 in the first game Sunday, saving her best hit for last. Drew blasted her fifth home run in 2017 with one out in the bottom of the seventh to erase a one-run deficit and allow the Saints (3-16) to walk off the field with the win. Drew also added three more RBIs in the game to give her five in the contest. She hit her first career triple in the first inning to give Siena its first two runs of the game.

Freshman pitcher Maddie McMahon picked up her first collegiate win in relief, going five innings and allowing four earned runs. The Saints fell behind early after Robert Morris put up four runs in the top of the first, but Siena would come back from multiple deficits in the game. Siena allowed four runs in the fourth to trail 8-6. The Saints plated one in the bottom of the fourth to make it a one-run game. The score would remain 8-7 until Drew's game-winning shot in the seventh.

In total, the Saints mustered nine runs on nine hits in the game, with six players recording one hit each to go along with three from Drew. Freshman Amanda Dodson had two RBIs, while Brooke Taylor and Loryn DeFalco added one each.

Game Two: UMBC 6, Siena 2

Siena was bested 6-2 in its final game in Maryland. The Saints struck first in the game, on an RBI single by DeFalco, scoring Madysen Cossack in the second. The Terriers took the lead on a 3 RBI triple in the bottom half of the frame to lead 3-1. DeFalco once again came through for the Saints in the fourth with an RBI double to cut the lead to 3-2.

UMBC would respond with two in the bottom of the fourth and would also tack one run on in the fifth to secure a 6-2 win, the team's eighth straight win.

The Saints are scheduled to take the short trip to UAlbany to play two against the Great Danes on Wednesday, March 29 starting at 2:30 p.m. Siena will open MAAC play next weekend with doubleheaders at Saint Peter's on Saturday, April 1 and at Marist on Sunday, April 2.
