Varsity Squad Prevails in Annual Baseball Alumni Game

Varsity Sneaks Past Alumni 14-13

LOUDONVILLE, NY - The current Saints prevailed 14-13 in the annual Siena Baseball Alumni Game held Saturday at Connors Park. Thirteen different players pounded out hits as part of an 18-hit attack for the varsity squad, while Siena great Joe Drpich '18 led the alumni team with three hits and three RBI. 

Brian Kelly, Yasser Santana, Jonathan Crimmin and freshmen Devan Kruzinski and Alex Milone all recorded two-hit performances for the varsity. Freshman Nick Melillo drove in three runs to lead the varsity team, while Crimmin, Kruzinski, and Milone all scored a pair of runs apiece. Nine different pitchers toed the rubber for the varsity squad, and combined to scatter 12 hits. 

A former first baseman, Drpich also tossed four innings of shutout relief for the alumni squad. One of four Siena Baseball legends to play in Major League Baseball, former Colorado Rockies pitcher Tim Christman '97 chipped in a 2-for-4 performance at the plate with a pair of runs scored and RBI.
