Siena Softball was swept on the second day of the FIU Classic in Miami, Florida. Central Connecticut defeated the Saints 6-1 in the opener, while Boston College bested Siena 8-0 in six innings in the finale.

Game One: Central Connecticut 6, Siena 1
Central Connecticut (2-1) combined to score four runs on seven hits over the fourth and fifth innings to top Siena (0-4) for the second straight morning. Kaitlin Paterson went 2-3 with a pair of RBI, and Tori Constantin added a 2-3 performance of her own with an RBI for the Blue Devils.

The Saints' top-two hitters in the order -- junior rightfielder Jess Vollmer and junior shortshop Jazmin Ortiz -- led the way with a pair of hits apiece. Siena strung together four of its eight hits during its run-scoring fifth inning, in which Ortiz came in to score the lone run on a wild pitch.

Sophomore southpaw Brooke Hughes went the distance in the circle for the Saints, scattering 10 hits and three earned runs while striking out three without issuing a walk.

Game Two: Boston College 8, Siena 0 (6)
A pitcher's duel over the first three innings gave way to Boston College (4-8) pounding out eight runs on eight hits over its final two-plus at-bats to walk off.

MAAC Preseason Player of the Year and junior first baseman Madysen Cossack tallied a pair of doubles to account for two of Siena's three hits.

The Eagles strung together five two-out hits to open the scoring with four runs in the fourth, and CC Cook belted a two-out, three-run home run in the fifth to put the game out of reach. Cook drove in four of the eight BC runs.

Siena concludes play in the season opening FIU Classic Sunday when the Saints face host Florida International at 12:15 p.m.
