Game One: George Washington 6, Siena 4
George Washington (18-7) scored the go-ahead runs in the fourth inning to rally past Siena (3-10). Sophomore Lauren Sabihon reached base safely in all four plate appearances, while going a perfect 3-3 with a home run, two runs scored, and a pair of RBI to lead the Saints.
Sabihon opened the game with a leadoff home run in an action packed start in which the teams combined to score all 10 runs over the first four innings. Entering the third trailing 3-1, Siena struck for three runs on four hits to reclaim the lead. Sabihon, junior Jazmin Ortiz, and junior Madysen Cossack delivered consecutive RBI hits to put the Saints in front.
But the Colonials knotted the score in third and went back in front for good in the fourth. Jenna Cone recorded the go-ahead RBI single, and Elena Shelepak forced in an insurance run on a groundout.
Kaitlin Buff allowed just one hit over four innings of relief to pick up the win in the circle for George Washington. Sophomore Brooke Hughes was also strong in relief for Siena, surrendering just two base runners over three shutout innings.
Game Two: Siena 9, Brown 4
Siena set the tone with a season-high five-run first en route to its highest scoring output on the young season. Junior Loryn DeFalco and freshman Neysa Ouellette each recorded a pair of hits and knocked in two runs apiece, as the third-seeded Saints defeated Tournament No. 2 seed Brown (5-8) to avenge Friday's loss in which the Bears scored four times in the seventh to walk off victorious.
Siena nearly batted around in sending eight to the plate while scoring five times albeit on the benefit of just two hits in the opening frame. DeFalco delivered the big blow with a two-run double, while senior Paige Hess also knocked in a run.
Brown chipped away in scoring four unanswered runs over the middle innings, but a costly error allowed the Saints to score two key insurance runs in the sixth before adding a final tally in the seventh on an RBI single by Ouellette.
Sabihon reached base safely three more times in the nightcap for Siena to add to an impressive Tournament performance and cap a stellar day. Sabihon reached base safely seven times in eight plate appearances Saturday, and has started Tournament action 7-11 with eight runs scored over four contests.
