LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena College Vice President and Director of Athletics
John D'Argenio has announced the hiring of
Paul DiLello '81 as the department's new assistant athletic director for development. A Capital Region native and former athletic department employee, DiLello returns to Siena after spending the past 28 years in sales at Verizon Communications.
"We are pleased to welcome Paul back to the Siena Athletic Department," said D'Argenio. "His passion for Siena and his experience in the Capital Region business community are great assets to us as we continue to expand both our base of contributors and development efforts, which are critical to the ongoing operations of our 21 athletic programs and various operating units within the department."
DiLello will be charged with overseeing the Saints Alive! Athletic Fund, which raises more than half a million dollars annually for the direct benefit of Siena's more than 300 student athletes. Additional duties include actively cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts from donors, implementing initiatives to grow Saints Alive! membership, organizing key fundraising and development events, and managing donor hospitality at men's basketball home games.
DiLello spent the final 10 years of his tenure at Verizon serving as a sales account manager. He was responsible for soliciting new business, client development, forecasting, and direct supervision of vendor sales agents.
DiLello formerly worked as the director of business development at the Creative Communications Corporation of America (1989-91), and as a sales manager at the Dial Corporation (1983-89). He previously served as Siena Athletics' Sports Information Director from 1981-83.
A 1981 graduate of Siena College with his B.S. in Marketing and Management, DiLello received his A.A.S. in Business Administration from Sage College in 1978. DiLello currently resides in Loudonville with his wife Kathleen, and sons Bryan '11, and Brendan.
