LOUDONVILLE, NY - For the 19th consecutive semester, Siena Swimming & Diving was honored for its strong performance by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), the organization announced this week. The Saints were once again given Scholar All-America honors as part of 728 male and female collegiate swim programs from 450 institutions.
Under the direction of Head Coach Brogan Barr, the Saints held a strong cumulative GPA of 3.50 during the Fall 2022 term and have now taken home Scholar All-American honors in every semester since the fall of 2011. The mark propelled the team to hold a 3.4 cumulative GPA following the most recent term, placing it amongst the athletic department's top academic teams.
Junior Elisabeth Balicanta, sophomore Emily Sulik, and freshman Francesca Coppola all made the prestigious 4.0 Club for a perfect academic mark in the spring, while 15 swimmers held above a 3.5 mark during the fall term and 19 of 23 Saints went above a 3.0 during the fall semester.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America is the oldest professional organization of college coaches in America. The CSCAA is dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
