LOUDONVILLE, NY – In conjunction with National Signing Day, Siena Baseball head coach Tony Rossi announced the signing of six incoming players as part of the team's Class of 2027. Incoming freshmen Noah Brooks, Connor Byrne, Tyler Figueroa, Tyler Kidwell, Evan Saulys, and Casey Vaughn will join the team beginning next fall.

Noah Brooks | Catcher | Palmyra, New York | Palmyra Macedon High School
A 5'10, 175 lb catcher, Brooks earned First Team All-League and Team MVP honors last season, while batting .390 with 33 hits, 16 RBI's and 15 stolen bases. A three-time Scholar Athlete and an NYSPHSSA Sportsmanship Honoree, he played club baseball for the Diamond Pro team out of Rochester, NY.
Coach Rossi on Brooks: "Noah has a solid plus arm to go along with a solid bat and great speed. He has a huge upside and the staff is excited to have him aboard."
Connor Byrne | RHP | Basking Ridge, New Jersey | Ridge High School
A 6'1, 180-lb pitcher, Byrne was named a North II Group IV All-Star and a Baseball Factory All-American following last season as one of the top junior pitchers in Northern New Jersey. He was also named a First Team Skyland Conference All-Star in the Delaware Division, and helped his team capture its first County Title since 2011 by tossing a complete-game shutout with 11 strikeouts. Ridge HS was the top seed in the tournament and ranked amongst the top-ten teams in the state at the time.
Coach Rossi on Byrne: "Connor has a plus arm, and commands three pitches. We're excited to have him with us, and feel that he will be a major contributor immediately."
Tyler Figueroa | Infielder | Schenectady, New York | Colonie Central High School
A 5'9, 170 lb local product, Figueroa was one of the top hitters in the Capital Region last season, batting .490 with 24 hits, four home runs, and 21 RBI's with Colonie Central. He received First Team All-Suburban Council and Second Team All-Section 2 honors following the 2022 campaign, and was named a Second 2 Honorable Mention honoree in 2021.
Coach Rossi on Figueroa: "We are extremely happy to have Tyler with us. He's extremely versatile and can play anywhere. He is a strong hitter and a top defender, and should be an immediate impact-type player. We're happy to have him aboard."
Tyler Kidwell | RHP/Outfielder | Erdenheim, Pennsylvania | Springside Chestnut Hill Academy
Primarily an outfielder at 6'1, 190 lbs, Kidwell also possesses a 90 MPH fastball on the mound, and brings speed on the base paths. He played summer baseball for Diamond Baseball Academy.
Coach Rossi on Kidwell: "Tyler has the possibility to be a strong two-way player at this level. He is a diamond in the rough as a pitcher, and is a welcome addition to this program."
Evan Saulys | RHP | Sparta, New Jersey | Sparta High School
A 6'1, 170-lb pitcher, Saulys played summer ball for the New Jersey Rising Rebels team, and possesses a mid-to-high 80's fastball with a sharp breaking pitch. He logged 26.2 innings over the last two seasons at Sparta HS, recording 28 strikeouts.
Coach Rossi on Saulys: "Evan is a talented player who has a huge upside, and can come in and make an immediate impact with our program."
Casey Vaughn | RHP | Syracuse, New York | Christian Brothers Academy – Syracuse
A 6'2 and 180 lbs, Vaughn took home All-CNY Section 3 Large School honors last year. He possesses a mid-to-upper 80's fastball and a solid breaking pitch. He was an All-Section 3 selection in 2021, and helped his team capture the Section 3 Title that year. He also competed in travel baseball with the Real Ballers 2023 Squad.
Coach Rossi on Vaughn: "Casey has the ability to give us quality innings immediately. He is aggressive and challenges hitters. We are very happy to welcome him to our program, and feel he will become a major factor in a short period of time."
"This class, while small, is very talented," Rossi added. "They are all student-athletes: athletic, versatile, and most importantly, strong academically. We feel that we have attracted a nice group of young men with a history of success on and off the field. I feel that this group can make an immediate impact on our program."
In addition to the team's incoming signees, Siena has also received the commitments of seven additional incoming Saints to join the program next season. The Green and Gold will welcome first baseman Luca Ciaramitaro, right-handed pitcher Michael DaSilva, utility Aidan Heffner, right-handed pitcher Nolan Puglisi, catcher Ethan Starr, infielder Jeffrey Valdez, and utility Jake Watson to the roster beginning in the Fall of 2023.
