The Saints ended their first of two weekends in Florida on the schedule with a win in their first-ever meeting with the Eagles. After an RBI triple plated a pair for FGCU in the top of the first, the Saints used solid pitching from freshman Adriana Romano to retire eight straight batters and set the stage for the team to take the lead in the middle innings.

Siena got on the board thanks to an RBI single from Ulrich that sent home senior Ava Fitzmaurice in the home half of the fourth, and used a crooked inning in the fifth to grab hold of the lead for good. Sophomore Mikala Fletcher and junior Stile scored on an error to give the Saints the lead, while junior Alba plated sophomore Isabella Pardo for an insurance run with an RBI single. Romano (1-0) earned her first collegiate win in the circle by striking out four and allowing just two runs over six innings, while Fitzmaurice picked up a one-inning save.

Siena will have next weekend off before returning to the Sunshine State for six games at the Madeira Beach Invitational at Madeira Beach, Florida.
