LEWISBURG, PA – Siena Outdoor Track junior
Tommy Anderson etched his name in the program record books Friday evening, setting the school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase to highlight a strong day of racing to begin weekend action at the Bison Outdoor Invitational in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
The Ballston Spa, New York native won the race with a time of 8:59.65 to finish ahead of the previous record of 9:03.92 set by
Will Randall in May 2019. The milestone marks the second program record that Anderson is now a part of, with the other coming in last year's 4x800 meter relay record.
Several other Saints came close to setting new school records, including junior
Aidan Gillooley, who finished sixth in the 5000 with a time of 14:10.85, good for the second-fastest 5K time overall in school history and the fastest ever run outdoors. Gillooley surpassed the previous outdoor record set by Siena Hall of Famer
Rich Coughlin '82.
