SMITHFIELD, RI – Siena Outdoor Track entered competition one day late for the second straight week due to inclement weather, competing at the Black & Gold Invitational on the campus of Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island on Sunday.
Prior to Sunday's action, senior
Peter Alden, sophomore
Collin Clinton, and senior
Christopher Adamski took part in the 10,000 on Friday evening, with Alden placing fourth and running the seventh-fastest time in program history at 31:42.28.
Sophomore
Nathaniel Sletten clocked the tenth-fastest time in the men's 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 10:00.00 to finish fourth in the event. Senior
Tommy Anderson won the men's 1,500 with a time of 3:53.53, while classmate
Delia McDade Clay finished second in the event with a mark of 4:33.52.
Sophomore
Claire Gardner finished second in the women's 800 with a time of 2:16.18, while junior
Griffin Cooke steadied the men in the event with a mark of 1:58.39. Freshman
Jayson Chichelli took third in the men's 5,000 with a time of 15:10.30, while sophomore
Miranda Gilbert led Siena in the women's race with a time of 19:14.98.
Finally, the men's team of Anderson, sophomore
Chris Bertola, Cooke, and sophomore
Luke Tkaczyk finished second in the 4x800 relay with a time of 7:53.87, while the women's group of freshman
Izzy McNamee, junior
Katharine Hesler, freshman
Stephanie Queiroz, and freshman
Juliana Touangeau placed fourth with a mark of 9:37.37.
Siena's next spring outdoor track action will come on Saturday, April 8 at the Dalton E. Banks Invitational in Fairfax, Virginia.
