Siena Swimming & Diving Set for 2023-24 Season

Saints to Host Four Home Meets as Part of Upcoming Schedule

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Entering the 2023-24 campaign under fourth year head coach Brogan Barr, Siena Swimming & Diving will aim to make the program's milestone 25th varsity season one of its most memorable. The Saints' 2023-24 schedule includes four home events at the Siena Swim Center and four dual meetings against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opponents.

"There's a lot of positive momentum heading into this year based on our success last season and nine great newcomers joining the squad," Barr said. "We have a good competition slate lined up this year, and we will have some great racing and diving competitions throughout the year. We are looking forward to seeing a couple more MAAC teams in-season, and everyone is excited about traveling to a new venue for our conference meet in February."

After compiling an impressive nine-win dual meet season and boasting a MAAC individual champion for the first time in over a decade last year, the Green and Gold will kick off the new campaign on Friday, October 6, when it faces off against MAAC foe Iona in dual meet competition for the first time since 2006. The team's home opener will come the following week on Saturday, October 14 when it hosts Rhode Island at the Siena Swim Center for the first time ever. The month of October will conclude with a trip to Rochester, New York for tri-meet action against the University of Rochester and MAAC foe Canisius on Saturday, October 21.

Siena will commence the month of November with a busy first weekend, heading to Pennsylvania to face off with Saint Francis (PA) on Saturday, November 4 and returning home one day later to host New Hampshire on Sunday, November 5. The following weekend will consist of a tri-meet against Sacred Heart and MAAC rival Rider in Milford, Connecticut on Saturday, November 11, while fall dual meet action will conclude at Stony Brook on Saturday, November 18. The Saints will conclude the 2023 calendar year by once again taking part in the ECAC winter Championships in East Meadow, New York December 1-3.

The new year will feature three regular season event dates for Siena, including the final two on campus in Loudonville. The Saints will begin 2024 at Vermont on Sunday, January 14 before returning home to host Stonehill on Saturday, January 20. The team's Senior Day will take place on Sunday, January 28 against Assumption and MAAC counterpart Saint Peter's.

After competing at the MAAC Championships in Buffalo for the past 12 competitions, Siena will instead head further west to the state-of-the-art Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio for the 2024 postseason competition, which is set for February 14-17. The team will look to build upon back-to-back sixth place finishes, while rising senior Talia Spenziero will aim to defend her MAAC title in the one-meter diving event.
