2024 Siena Baseball Schedule Revealed

New Head Coach Alex Jurczynski Announces His First Siena Slate

LOUDONVILLE, NY – New Siena Baseball Head Coach Alex Jurczynski has revealed his first schedule. The Saints are slated for a 54-game 2024 regular season schedule, highlighted by 18 dates at Connors Park this spring.

Following a program-record 27-game road trip to open last season, Siena is set to play its first 22 games away from home to begin 2024. The season-opening road trip will take the Saints to six different states, highlighted by three weekend series in North Carolina.

After beginning their schedule in the Sunshine State in each of the previous 10 non-conference seasons – nine of which were at Central Florida – Siena is set to start 2024 with the program's first-ever season-opener in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This will mark the first time in which the Saints have opened their non-conference schedule outside Florida since 2012 (Tulane). Siena began its abbreviated conference-only COVID season in 2021 hosting MAAC foe Iona.

The Saints will officially commence the Jurczynski Era with a three-game series at Big South opponent Longwood, starting with a season-opening doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 17 at noon in Farmville, Virginia. Siena returns to the Southeast the following weekend to wrap up the first month of the season when they take on Sun Belt foe Appalachian State (Feb. 23-25). The three-game series will be hosted more than 40 miles off campus at L.P. Frans Stadium, home of reigning World Series Champion Texas Rangers High-A affiliate, the Hickory Crawdads.

The Saints begin March back in North Carolina for another three-game weekend series against a second Big South opponent in UNC Asheville (Mar. 2-3), before making their 2024 Empire State debut with four games the following week. Siena takes on LIU in its first mid-week action (Mar. 6), before rounding out its week on Long Island with a three-game set at Stony Brook (Mar. 9-10).

The Saints remain in the Northeast for a mid-week matchup against their first of four 2023 NCAA Tournament opponents when they travel to Atlantic Coast Conference foe Boston College (Mar. 13), before making their farthest trek of the season to Georgia to face Mercer of the Southern Conference (Mar. 16-17).

Siena wraps up its season-opening road trip with midweek matchups at defending Patriot League Champion Army West Point (Mar. 20) and at regional foe Fairleigh Dickinson (Mar. 26), bookending their final non-conference weekend trip to Davidson (Mar. 23-24).

The Saints are set to open both their home schedule and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action when they host Quinnipiac during Easter Week. The squads will open with a doubleheader on Thursday, Mar. 28 at noon at Connors Park.

Siena wraps up its first home action of the spring with back-to-back midweek matchups against crosstown rival UAlbany (Apr. 2) and a return of the home-and-home with Army West Point (Apr. 3). Separated by less than eight miles, the Saints and Great Danes are set to meet on the baseball diamond for the first time in 42 years dating back to the 1982 season.

Siena returns to the road for its next eight games, featuring weekend series at defending MAAC Tournament Champion Rider (Apr. 5-7) and Canisius (Apr. 12-14), and mid-week tilts against reigning Northeast Conference Regular Season and Tournament Champion Central Connecticut (Apr. 9) and Ivy League foe Dartmouth (Apr. 17).

The Saints then begin a stretch where they play 13 of 16 at home, capped by a season-long eight-game homestand to open May at Connors Park. Siena will host MAAC foes Niagara (Apr. 19-21), Manhattan (May 3-5), and Marist (May 10-12) during that stretch, as well as non-conference opponents Binghamton (Apr. 23), UMass (Apr. 24), UAlbany (May 8), and Fairleigh Dickinson (May 14) in non-conference action. The lone road series during that stretch will be at defending MAAC Regular Season Champion Fairfield (Apr. 26-28).

Following their home finale vs. FDU, Siena will wrap up 2024 regular season action at Iona (May 16-18). The top-six teams in the 11-team conference will then qualify for the 2024 MAAC Baseball Championships, which are set to be held for a third straight season at Clover Stadium in Pomona, New York from May 22-25.
