Jurczynski Announces Baseball Coaching Staff Changes

Hamilton Elevated, Seiler Returns to Loudonville

LOUDONVILLE, NY - Siena Baseball head coach Alex Jurczynski announced a pair of changes to his staff for the upcoming season. Chris Hamilton has been promoted as Jurczynski's top assistant and Recruiting Coordinator, while former Saints pitcher Ben Seiler returns to Loudonville as the Director of Pitching Development.

"We are very fortunate to have two great coaches as a part of our staff," Jurczynski said. "Chris has proven himself as an up-and-coming coach in college baseball. He has been a great asset to me over the last year and I am excited to watch him thrive in his new role."

Jurczynski added, "We are excited to welcome Ben back to the program. Ben is an energetic young coach who had a great career here at Siena. He is hungry and motivated to learn. I'm excited for him to help develop our pitching staff."

Hamilton's promotion comes after serving as the Director of Player Development last season. He previously enjoyed a decorated five-year playing career at Stony Brook University from 2016-21.

A two-time First Team All-America East selection in 2019 and 2021, he completed his collegiate career ranked inside the program's career top-10 in home runs, RBI's, doubles, and walks. He earned America East All-Tournament Team honors in 2018, and was named the 2019 America East Conference Tournament MVP while leading the Seawolves to the NCAA Tournament. He was rated among the nation's top 150 hitters by DIBaseball.com.

Seiler spent four seasons on the bump for Siena from 2019-22, reaching 150 innings pitched over 38 appearances. In his senior season, the southpaw was named Co-National Pitcher of the Week after posting an NCAA-best 19 strikeouts in a complete game against Niagara. In all that year he made 13 starts and notched four wins while posting a career-low 4.35 ERA. That same season, Seiler reached the 150 career strikeout milestone after setting down 86 - a top-five all-time single-season program mark. Seiler finished his career 2nd in program history in K/9 (min 100 IP).

He went on to spend the 2023 season at Indiana University, appearing in 20 games with 40.2 innings pitched. Seiler pitched this past year professionally for the New England Knockouts in the Frontier League, registering a 5.37 ERA over 70 innings pitched.
