LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Men's Soccer has acquired versatile offensive creator Isaac Gugel, who split time playing between Gainesville (FL) KF club, the Spanish Aravaca FC as well as the elite football development program at Getafe International Academy in Madrid, Spain.
Gugel was noted for providing a much-needed offensive burst midway through the season to help lift the Gainesville Hurricanes boys' soccer team to its fourth consecutive Alachua County Cup Trophy against Buchholz. Gugel scored twice in the overtime periods to spark a 4-1 win for Gainesville.
"I would like to welcome Isaac to our family," said Siena Men's Soccer head coach
Graciano Brito, who will begin his fifth season with the Saints for 2024. "Isaac is a technical player that will add depth and strength to our team. We are very excited to have him be part of our team."
Among his accomplishments, Gugel was a 2022-2023 High School All-Area Team selection, a member of the Florida ODP state team from 2017 through 2019 and was selected for the Southern Region ODP Team in 2018.
Siena Men's Soccer (8-9, 8-2 MAAC in 2023) will look to build upon a season in which it won eight of its final nine regular season games to clinch its fourth consecutive MAAC postseason berth.
