LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Basketball Head Coach
Gerry McNamara has announced his fifth official addition, and second incoming freshman to join the Saints 2025-26 roster, with the signing of Isaiah Henderson.
Â
"Versatility is so important, and Zay really provides it," said McNamara. "He shoots the ball at a very high level, can make good decisions with the ball in his hands, and can guard multiple positions on the defensive end. His summer efficiency on the Nike circuit was elite. Zay is a really good all-around player who will continue to get better. I'm really excited about how good I think he can be."
Â
A 6-6, 205-pound forward from Painted Post, New York who initially committed verbally last September, Henderson starred for the past two seasons at Kimball Union Academy in New Hampshire where he amassed 1,168 points. Rated the 53
rd best player in the New England Class of 2025 by the New England Recruiting Report, he earned Class AA All-NEPSAC honors this past winter after securing Honorable Mention acclaim as a junior.
Â
Henderson totaled 1,749 points for his high school career overall, while previously playing for his hometown Corning Painted Post – where he was both an All-State selection and All-Southern Tier Sports Report Newcomer of the Year – as well as La Lumiere School in Indiana.
Â
Henderson plays AAU for the Albany City Rocks, where he shot 47% from three last summer while helping lead the squad to Peach Jam.
Â
Henderson is the fifth officially announced newcomer – and second freshman – to join the 2025-26 Siena Men's Basketball team, following transfers
Riley Mulvey,
Antonio Chandler, and
Tasman Goodrick, and fellow freshman
Christian Jones. Stay tuned in the coming days for formal announcements of additional newcomers set to join the 2025-26 Saints.
