Siena Soccer Programs Earn United Soccer Coaches Academic Team Honors

Women’s Soccer Nets 23rd Straight Team Academic Award, Men Secure Ninth Consecutive

LOUDONVILLE, NY - The Siena Men's and Women's Soccer programs have once again earned United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards, with the women receiving the honor for the 23rd consecutive year and the men earning their ninth straight award and 13th in the past 15 seasons.

Siena was one of just 173 colleges and universities nationally across all divisions – and the only Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference institution – to have both its men's and women's soccer programs recognized for achieving a 3.0 or better team cumulative grade-point average during the 2024-25 academic year.

Under head coach Steve Karbowski, the women's soccer team posted a 3.60 GPA for the 2024-25 school year, bringing the program's cumulative GPA to a 3.55. The Saints ended the academic year on a strong note, with each member achieving at least a 3.0 mark in the classroom, nine members featured on either the President's or Dean's List, and five earning a perfect 4.0 GPA. Additionally, six Saints were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team in November, while 13 were named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic Team.

The men's soccer team posted a 3.54 GPA for the 2024-25 school year under head coach Graciano Brito, increasing the program's cumulative GPA to a 3.55. Eight members of the squad were named to either the President's or Dean's List this past spring, while 15 Saints posted at least a 3.40 GPA, and an additional five finished the semester with a perfect 4.0. Notably, recently graduated Henrik Winkelmann was named a CSC Academic All-American in the fall and was one of five members also selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team. An additional 14 members were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team in the fall as well.
