LOUDONVILLE, NY — Siena Baseball Head Coach
Alex Jurczynski has announced the addition of 17 newcomers to the Saints' roster, welcoming a talented group featuring accomplished high school standouts, junior college transfers, and players with Division I experience.
The class features eight pitchers and nine position players, with eight members of the group hailing from the Capital Region. The incoming Saints bring an impressive collection of accolades and experience to Loudonville, including state championships, All-State honors, conference awards, and NCAA Division I experience.
Ian Bruce | RHP | Latham, NY | Shaker
A local product from Shaker High School, Bruce brings a good arm and strong work ethic to the Siena pitching staff. The Latham native will look to continue his development while competing for the Saints.
Coach Jurcynski on Bruce: "Ian's got a live arm and the drive to get better every day. That combination is exactly what we are looking for; Ian is going to have a bright future with the Saints."
Pierce Byrne | RHP | Warrensburg, NY | Saratoga Catholic
Byrne arrives at Siena as the New York State strikeout leader following a decorated six-year varsity career. The right-hander was named New York State Player of the Year, earned three All-State selections, and helped lead Saratoga Catholic to two state championships, earning NYS Championship MVP honors twice. He also finished his high school career as the Section II wins leader with 440 strikeouts and 36 victories.
Coach Jurczynski on Byrne: "Pierce is going to be an arm that we are going to rely on. He's played under a hall of fame high school coach and will help us win a lot of games in his career."
Gabriel Cruz | RHP | Miami, FL | Christopher Columbus (Stetson/Miami Dade/Campbell)
Cruz brings Division I experience to the Saints after spending time at Stetson and Campbell, with a season at Miami Dade in between. In 2026 at Campbell, the redshirt sophomore made four appearances and struck out three over 4.0 innings. At Miami Dade in 2025, he went 1-0 with a 3.92 ERA and 29 strikeouts over 20.2 innings, allowing just six walks. Cruz was also a First Team Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-American as a high school senior in 2023.
Coach Jurczynski on Cruz: "Gabe gives us versatility on the mound. He's had experience at multiple levels across Division I. He brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to not only our pitching staff but our entire team."
Peyton Fall | LHP | Delanson, NY | Duanesburg (College of Central Florida)
A local left-handed pitcher, Fall comes to Siena after two seasons at the College of Central Florida. He appeared in 12 games in each of his two seasons, making nine starts as a freshman before working primarily in relief as a sophomore. Fall totaled 71 strikeouts over 52.3 innings during his two seasons and was a Section II baseball champion and First Team honoree at Duanesburg.
Coach Jurczynski on Fall: Peyton is a local left-handed pitcher that spent time at the College of Central Florida. Peyton has real upside with the ability to throw a lot of innings for us this year. We're excited to develop him into a difference-maker on our staff."
Lawson Fenn | INF | Severna Park, MD | IMG Academy
Fenn joins the Saints after a standout career at IMG Academy. The infielder was part of a 2025 high school national championship team and earned 2026 Perfect Game Florida Preseason Honorable Mention recognition. He was also an IMG Gold Glove selection at shortstop in 2026.
Coach Jurczynski on Fenn: "Lawson's got the athleticism and defensive tools to play a big role as a freshman. We are looking forward to watching him develop and grow with us."
Ty Figueroa | UT | Colonie, NY | Colonie (Siena/Appalachian State/Wake Forest)
Figueroa returns home to Siena after competing at both Wake Forest and Appalachian State following his standout freshman season with the Saints. In 2025 at Appalachian State, he earned Second Team All-Sun Belt honors after starting 53 of 54 games across four positions. He hit .271 with 14 doubles, seven home runs, 43 runs and 33 RBI while stealing seven bases. Figueroa also posted a 19-game on-base streak and recorded 13 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI performances.
As a freshman at Siena in 2024, Figueroa earned MAAC All-Rookie Team honors after leading the Saints with a .315 batting average and 35 RBI. He added a .523 slugging percentage and .392 on-base percentage while earning four Rookie of the Week selections.
Coach Jurczynski on Figueroa: "Tyler's a hometown kid who's gone out, competed at the highest level, and is coming back home. He knows what it takes to win here, and he's going to lead by example. We are lucky to have him back."
Alex Landau | LHP/OF | Wilton, NY | Saratoga Springs
Landau brings a versatile skill set to the Saints after a decorated career at Saratoga Springs. He earned First Team honors from the Suburban Council, Times Union, and All-State at the AAA level while helping Saratoga Springs capture a New York State AAA championship. Landau was also a 518 Futures Games selection and excelled in alpine skiing, winning two New York State championships and five Section II championships.
Coach Jurczynski on Landau: "Alex is a local kid who's played for one of the best high school teams in the state."
Joe Maier | INF/UT | Toms River, NJ | Donovan Catholic (Rowan College South Jersey - Gloucester)
Maier arrives at Siena following two highly productive seasons at Rowan College South Jersey - Gloucester. As a sophomore in 2026, he appeared in 52 games and hit .410 with 19 doubles, 11 home runs, and three triples. He drove in 64 runs, scored 102 times, and went 9-for-11 on stolen base attempts. Maier hit .390 with 15 doubles and five home runs as a freshman while driving in 54 runs and scoring 65 times.
Coach Jurczynski on Maier: "Joe's been in the biggest moments JUCO baseball has to offer. That toughness and big-game experience is contagious."
Colin Maloney | RHP | Rexford, NY | Shenendehowa (Rhode Island)
A Capital Region product, Maloney joins the Saints following four seasons at Rhode Island. He made a career-high 13 relief appearances in 2026, striking out 14 over 14.2 innings. As a senior at Shenendehowa, Maloney went 5-0 with 58 strikeouts, a 0.67 ERA and a .123 batting average against over 41.1 innings. He was named Pitcher of the Year and Most Valuable Player while earning First Team Suburban Council honors.
Coach Jurczynski on Maloney: "Colin was one of the best pitchers in this area during his time at Shenendehowa. We are excited to have his experience and leadership on the mound. He's going to stabilize our staff."
Gavin McCullough | RHP | Austin, TX | Lake Travis (McLennan)
McCullough comes to Siena after two seasons at McLennan, helping the Highlanders reach the JUCO World Series semifinal round in 2025. He appeared in 15 games as a freshman, posting a 3.50 ERA with 16 strikeouts over 18.0 innings. In 2026, he added eight appearances, one save, and seven strikeouts. McCullough was an NJCAA All-Academic First-Team selection and earned Texas Sports Writers Association 6A First-Team All-State honors at Lake Travis.
Coach Jurczynski on McCullough: "Gavin pitches with an edge—he trusts his stuff and isn't afraid to challenge anyone in the box."
Aidan O'Keefe | INF | Latham, NY | Albany Academy (Richmond)
O'Keefe returns to the Capital Region following four seasons at Richmond. He made 38 starts in 53 games as a redshirt junior in 2026, recording 31 hits, three home runs, and 17 RBI. In 2024, he hit a career-best .310 with eight home runs, five doubles, and 31 RBI while making 45 starts. O'Keefe was a four-year starter and two-time team captain at Albany Academy, earning First Team All-Area Section II and First Team Colonial Council honors.
Coach Jurczynski on O'Keefe: "Aidan's a guy other players follow. He's played winning baseball at a high level, and that leadership is exactly what we need in our infield."
Ryan Ottobre | C | Ewing, NJ | Hopewell Valley Central
Ottobre joins the Saints after hitting .400 with four home runs, 20 extra-base hits, and 41 RBI as a high school senior. The catcher was a two-time All-Conference selection and was selected to compete for the Mercer County team in the Carpenter Cup.

Angel Paulino | LHP | Dudley, MA | Shepherd Hill
Paulino adds another left-handed option to the Siena pitching staff after striking out 90 batters over 45 innings during his senior season at Shepherd Hill.
Coach Jurczynski on Paulino: "Angel's got a live left arm, and left-handed pitching with that kind of stuff doesn't come around often."
Nicholas Plue | UT | Schenectady, NY | Guilderland (Manhattan/SUNY Cortland)
Plue returns to the Capital Region after competing at both Manhattan and SUNY Cortland. As a senior at Cortland in 2026, he appeared in 33 games with 12 starts, hitting .259 with three home runs, two doubles, 13 RBI and nine runs scored. He homered against RPI, Canton, and Oswego and helped Cortland advance to the NCAA Division III Regional. Plue also hit .276 with three doubles, a home run, and five RBI in 2024.
A three-year member of the Guilderland baseball program, Plue earned First Team Suburban Council All-Star honors as both a junior and senior.
Coach Jurczynski on Plue: "Nick's versatility gives us options up and down the lineup. He is a guy who can play anywhere and leads by example. He's going to be a great asset to our team."
Logan Powell | C | Lusby, MD | Patuxent
Powell brings an impressive resume to Siena after a decorated career at Patuxent. He was a three-time First Team All-Conference selection, Conference Player of the Year and two-time First Team All-State honoree. As a senior, Powell hit .439 with a .557 on-base percentage, 15 extra-base hits, four home runs, 11 doubles and 10 stolen bases. Behind the plate, he recorded a 42.37 percent caught-stealing rate, while also going 4-0 with a 0.70 ERA on the mound.
Coach Jurczynski on Powell: "Logan's got real power and the tools to compete for playing time as a true freshman. Excited to get him in our program."
Jaidyn Rivera | OF/UT | Aston, PA | The Haverford School
Rivera joins the Saints after hitting .350 with a 1.285 and 12 home runs as a senior at The Haverford School. He was a two-time First Team All-Delco selection and two-time Second Team All-Inter-Academic League honoree. Rivera was also selected to play for the Inter-Academic League/Independent Carpenter Cup team.
Coach Jurczynski on Rivera: "Jaidyn's a two-sport athlete that has high character and, most importantly, a great teammate. Coming off of an injury that sidelined him last year, we are excited to watch him develop and compete over the next four years."
Ethan Stipp | OF | Las Vegas, NV | IMG Academy
Stipp brings impressive athleticism and experience to the Saints after four years of varsity baseball at IMG Academy. He hit over .350 in each of his four varsity seasons and played on one of IMG Academy's three national teams for two years. Stipp also owns the IMG Academy 60-yard dash record at 6.11 seconds, measured by laser.
Coach Jurczynski on Stipp: "Ethan's a strong, athletic outfielder that has some serious tools. We're excited to watch him compete, grow, and develop into a high-level outfielder for the Saints."
