Freshman second baseman Dan Paolini was honored as the MAAC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season Monday. Paolini has a monster week for the Saints batting .720 (18-for-25) in six games played.
Paolini posted multi-hit games in all six contests and has now done so in nine straight games. He also homered four times, drove in 10 runs and scored seven times. He posted a 1.320 slugging percentage, a .750 on-base percentage and a 2.070 OPS.
Paolini raised his MAAC-leading batting average to .427 and his 79 hits this season stand just two hits shy of the school's all-time single season record. Paolini's top effort came in Siena's comeback win at Vermont when he homered in his first two at bats and finished 3-for-4 with four RBI. He went 4-for-4 in Siena's win over regional powerhouse Rhode Island and had eight hits in the three-game set with Canisius.
Paolini and the Saints complete their season with three games at Iona this weekend.
