USILA Coaches' Poll and Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Less than 24 hours after capturing the MAAC Championship, the Siena Lacrosse team reached another key milestone Monday. The Saints are ranked No. 20 in today's USILA Coaches' Poll, marking the first time in program history in which the program is nationally ranked.
Siena vaults into the top-20 after an impressive regular season. The Saints set a program single-season record with their 13th victory in winning the MAAC Championship and clinching an NCAA Tournament berth Sunday and have won 12 of their last 14 games overall.
The Saints had been amongst teams also receiving votes in the USILA Coaches' Poll for the past six consecutive weeks. Additionally, they are once again receiving votes in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll this week for the sixth time in the past seven weeks.
Syracuse, which is the Saints' first round opponent in the NCAA Tournament, topped both of today's polls.
The Saints and Orange faceoff in the NCAA Tournament Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y. on ESPNU.
