Women's Results
As if this cross country season wasn't already impressive enough, the Saints continue to show they are a force to be reckoned with in the MAAC. The men finished 2nd out of 45 teams while the women finished 10th out of 42.
Nick Cornine finished 18th overall and was the first Saint to cross the finish line at 25:05. Evans Kibet and Shaun VanBuskirk followed each across the finish line as they finished in 25:20 and 25:21, respectively. VanBuskirk's time was a personal best for the junior.
Paolo Fiore came through for Siena with a 25:26 time. Andrew Canavan rounded out Siena's scoring with his 25:39 time.
The women finished 10th overall, but three years ago the Saints finished 43rd out of 45. Not only did the Saints show a team improvement, but individuals all showed improvement. Before today only 8 females in history have broken the 23:00 mark in the 6K, six student-athletes did that today.
Sarah Forman led the women with her personal best 21:59 finish. Her time is second on the All-Time best list for the Saints. Junior Kelly Pasko came in at 22:21 followed by senior Shannon Bauer with a 22:26 time. Pasko now sits fourth while Bauer sits fifth on the All-Time list.
Freshman Anya Schmitt came in at 22:43 for the sixth best time at Siena as well as now holding the Siena Freshman 6K record. Senior Sydney Sericolo was rounded out Siena's scoring and finished in 22:52 for the 8th best time in Saints history.
In just a week, Siena will hit the course again in the hopes of continuing their strong season. The Saints will travel to Westfield, Massachusetts for the James Earley Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 11 a.m.
