BOSTON, MA - 15 runners represented Siena's men's & women's indoor track squads in competition to begin the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center Friday. The weekend long meet marks the third time this season that the Saints were in action on the campus of Boston University.
The day kicked off with a pair of Saints' women running in the 5000-meter race, with junior Regina Rosati placing 15th overall (17:54.18) and classmate Mia Forster taking 38th (18:34.63).
The Green and Gold then featured a slew of runners in the women's 3000-meter competition, with sophomore Olivia Lomascolo (10:10.42) leading the pack with a 41st overall finish in the crowded field. Freshman Sophia Vinciguerra (10:12.62), senior Camryn Johnson (10:14.75) and freshman Elaine Atanasova (10:18.00) also finished inside the top-50, while junior Carissa Kahn (10:21.96) rounded out the Saints in the event.
The Saints then saw three women's runners compete in the 800-meter race, with junior co-captain Morgan Serkes winning her heat with a time of 2:19.70. Classmates Holly Bednarek (2:23.33) and Allison Hill (2:24.12) also took part in the event.
Sophomore Julia Bryant rounded out the women's team's competition on the day with a time of 3:06.21 in the 1000-meter run.
Concluding a long day of racing as the only Siena men to compete in Friday's action, the distance medley relay group of Jacob Greski, Ryan Famiglietti, Ryan Holland and Matthew LaFramboise wrapped up the evening by taking second in their heat and 10th overall with a time of 10:12.07.
Siena is back in action at the Valentine Invitational on Saturday, February 15, with action beginning for the men and the women's DMR at 11 AM.
