Men’s Lacrosse Introduces 2020-21 Freshman Class

Saints Score Nine Players For Roster

LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Men's Lacrosse program and head coach Liam Gleason have announced the addition of nine newcomers to the program, with the addition of Andrew Arcuri, Jack Cavioli, Ethan Eckert, Matt Edell, Jack Erb, Sean Jeffrey, Brian Mack, Trevor Marsala, and Sean Swenson. All nine student athletes have begun classes and are eligible for the spring.
 
"We are excited to welcome this group of nine student athletes to the Siena lacrosse family," said head coach Liam Gleason. "They have done a great job investing and buying into our culture that we have built, and I look forward to watching them grow in our program over the next four years."
 
A native of Westhampton, New York, Arcuri was a goalie at the varsity level all four years at Westhampton Beach High School. He was named All-Division and All-County in 2019 as a junior. Arcuri also played one year of volleyball before making a permanent move to lacrosse. In his spare time, Arcuri helped coach a PAL team in Westhampton for the last four years.
 
From Farmingdale, New York, Cavioli was a four-year varsity starter at midfield for lacrosse. He was named All-Conference in 2018, All-County in 2019, and was named Newsday Top 100 in 2020. He also played three years of varsity volleyball, earning All-Division in 2018 and All-County in 2019. Cavioli also earned Team MVP in 2019.
 
Eckert played lacrosse at Dallastown Area High School, and was a four year varsity starter on defense. A native of Red Lion, Pennsylvania, he earned a First Team All-County selection his junior year in 2019. Eckert also played football for one year, and was a kicker and middle linebacker.
 
Hailing from West Chicago, Illinois, Edell played lacrosse and football at Culver Academy. He was named an Underclass All-American for his time at Culver. Edell also played for True Illinois 2020 State Premier in 2018 for club.
 
Erb comes to Loudonville from Shoreham, New York. He played three years of varsity lacrosse, starting at the midfield. Erb was named 2019 Suffolk County All-Star and All-Long Island. He also won a state championship in 2019 and was named a Top 100 player in Long Island.
 
From East Northport, NY, Jeffrey comes to Siena after playing lacrosse at Northport High School. He also played football, and was a wide receiver and cornerback. He is the youngest of three, with two older brothers. Jeffrey jumped onto the scene after competing in the 2017 Inside Lacrosse Recruiting Invitational.
 
Mack comes to Loudonville from Manhasset, New York. In addition to lacrosse, he also played hockey and football at Manhasset Secondary School. The oldest of three siblings, both of his younger sisters also play sports. Mack was very involved in both football and lacrosse clinics throughout high school, offering his helping services when needed.
 
Marsala makes his way into Green and Gold via Port Jefferson Station, New York. He played three years of varsity lacrosse, earning captain his senior season. He also played soccer for two years. Marsala was a member of his school's community outreach club.
 
From nearby Stillwater, New York, Swenson played varsity lacrosse for four years, earning a starting spot three of his four years. He earned a Section II State Championship, and earned Rhino Lacrosse All-American honors. Swenson was named a Section II All-Star, Foothills Council All-Star, and NYS Regional honors. In the classroom, he earned NYSHPHSAA Scholar Athlete accolades. His cousin, Michael Battiste '07 played soccer at Siena.
