LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – Siena Cross Country further proved that it is planning to stay near the top of the MAAC Cross Country ranks for years to come Saturday, logging a pair of top-3 team finishes at the 2021 MAAC Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships. The women's team finished as the conference runners-up, while the men placed third in the 41
st edition of the race, held at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
The women's squad took home its second straight second place finish, landing in the top-3 for the fourth straight year, while the men logged their fourth top-3 place in five seasons. Iona took home the team title on both the men's and women's side, winning for the 31
st and sixth straight seasons, respectively.
The Saints were steadied up front by a pair of record-breaking performances from its two top runners. Senior
Olivia Lomascolo (21:07.5) earned All-MAAC honors for the third straight year with the highest Siena finish in the history of either program, taking third individually in the women's 6k. Junior
Brandon Olden (24:44.0) placed fourth in the men's 8k to earn All-MAAC honors for the second year in a row and record the highest men's MAAC finish ever.
The pair was joined by a slew of other award winners, with graduate student
