Men’s Lacrosse Introduces 2021-22 Freshman Class

Saints Ready to Roll in Upcoming Spring Season

LOUDONVILLE, NY - The Siena Men's Lacrosse team and head coach Liam Gleason officially announced the freshman additions to its squad for the 2021 spring season. The 15 player class signed with the Saints beginning last November.
 
"Our coaching staff is very excited to welcome the Class of 2025 to the Siena lacrosse family," said Gleason. "It is a great group of student-athletes from five different states that have excelled on and off the lacrosse field. This class has already made their presence felt and we are looking forward to the spring season."
 
Coming from Ocean Township High School, Dale Alto was a four year varsity letterwinner and starter. From Oakhurst, New Jersey, he served as a team captain during his junior and senior year. Off the field, Alto serves as a Junior Board Member of the Mya Lynn Terry Foundation, and did three drives for the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County.
 
Making his way across the country from Folsom, California, Evan Beland will add depth to the goaltender spot. Coming to Siena from Granite Bay High School, Beland was a 2021 Adrenaline All-American and varsity MVP. He was a two-year captain and three-year letterwinner. He is the second of his three brothers to play collegiate lacrosse, as his brother Brandon played lacrosse at UMass-Lowell.
 
Hailing from Sparta, New Jersey, Jack Clifford comes to Siena with a full lacrosse resume. He played two years of varsity lacrosse at Pope John High School before making his way to Seton Hall Prep for one year. A multi-sport athlete, set the Pope John single season record in points, goals, and assists, earning 1st Team All-Nonpublic and 2nd Team All-State honors. He would also go on to win First Team All-RIZK Division and All-NJAC Conference awards. Rounding out his top honors, we was a nominee for the nj.com Mid-Season Attackman of the Year.
 
From Yorktown Heights, New York, Mark Cummins comes to Loudonville from Lakeland High School. Cummins earned All-Section Lacrosse honors his senior year after completing three years of varsity competition. He also was a standout in football and basketball over those three years.
 
Also coming across the country, Khoi Dawkins arrives from Ridgefield, Washington. A Standout at Skyview High School, Dawkins was a First Team All-League honoree as a long stick midfielder. He would start in that position all four years at Skyview, also competing in wrestling, basketball, and jiu-jitsu at multiple points. His brother, Vinh currently plays lacrosse at Florida Southern College.
 
A local add for the Saints, Peyton Doyle comes from Schenectady to play for the Green and Gold. A product from Christian Brothers Academy, he would serve as team captain last season as a senior. His sister, Camryn also attends Siena.
 
From Hogansburg, New York, Tahnaokata Elijah starred at Salmon River Junior-Senior High School in Fort Covington. He would go on to win All-Northern First Team honors, and was named Section 10 MVP all in 2021.
 
Coming to Loudonville from Huntington, New York, Liam Hassett joins the Saints as a multi-sport athlete in high school. While at Huntington High, Hassett earned All-County honors in lacrosse while also playing football and basketball during his high school career. His father, John, played lacrosse at Loyola. Also no stranger to the Green and Gold, Hassett's uncle Brian Lynch played football at Siena.
 
A native of the Granite State, Max Manniello matriculates from Bedford, New Hampshire. Playing at Bedford High, Manniello was named First Team All-State, was selected to the NH Watch List, and was a NH/VT All-Star selection.
 
From Northport, New York, Ryan McCarthy comes to Siena from Northport High School. After starting his lacrosse career during his sophomore year in high school, McCarthy helped Northport to an LIC Championship.
 
Coming to Loudonville from Wading River, New York, Sean Miller comes to Siena with a full lacrosse resume. Starring at Shoreham-Wading River High School, he accumulated three varsity letters which culminated into a 2019 NYS Class C Championship. In 2021, Miller added an All-County and S.C.L.C.A. Division II Most Outstanding Faceoff Specialist honor. A recipient of Shoreham-Wading River's Navy Seal Lt. Michael Murphy Award, Miller also starred in football and wrestling. One of seven siblings where everyone played lacrosse, his siblings accumulated four state championships, which includes brother Troy who won two NCAA Division III National Championships and was a two-time All-American with the Sea Gulls.
 
From Port Washington, New York and Chaminade High School, Nick Papagalis played four years of lacrosse and two of football during his high school career. Recruited by multiple schools, Papagalis plans to major in Finance at Siena.
 
Coming to Siena from Manlius, New York, Pratt Reynolds joins the Saints from lacrosse powerhouse Fayetteville-Manlius High School. Earning three varsity letters, Reynolds was nominated for an All-American honor this past year in which he earned First Team All-League and All-CNY honors, and was named the 2021 Clarence E. Gaffney Memorial Award winner. His major accomplishment was being named to the 2020 Under Armour All-American team. Also named Team MVP in 2021, in previous years Reynolds earned All-Region and NXT All-Star selections. On the field, he earned two regional championships, while earning three years worth of Scholar Athlete awards off the field.
 
Matriculating from Rockville Centre, New York, Andrew Rooney joins high school teammate Nick Papagalis in this class from Chaminade. Rooney played and started all four years of high school on lacrosse. Rooney also played two years of basketball, earning a starting job in one of those.
 
From Wayne, New Jersey, Charles Szumita played at DePaul Catholic High School where he played four years of lacrosse. He earned Second Team All-League honors, also earning All-County Honorable Mention. His brother, Richard, has played two years of lacrosse at the University of New England.
