LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Cross Country fired on all cylinders in its first home meet in two years Saturday morning, with the men's and women's teams each taking home the team titles at the Siena Cross Country Invitational at The Crossings at Colonie in Loudonville, New York.

Competing in its second meet of the Fall 2021 season, both squads took first place in the seven-team field, which included MAAC opponents Marist and Fairfield, as well as Le Moyne, St. Rose, UAlbany, and Union. The men took a decisive win by scoring 17 points, while the women beat out the Red Foxes, 34-38, to claim victory.

Brandon Olden led the men with a dominant victory in the 8k, logging a time of 25:28.4 to start what was a 1-2-3 finish for the Saints. Junior
Aidan Gillooley took second with 25:49.0, while graduate student
Stosh Davis placed third at 25:52.2. Junior

Olivia Lomascolo continued to add to what has already been a prestigious career in Green and Gold with an individual victory that saw her run 18:22.6 in the women's 5k. Graduate student

The victories mark the first team title for the men since the 2019 Siena XC Invitational and the first for the women since their title at the Paul Short Run on September 29, 2018. Its the first time that both teams have won at the same meet since September 1, 2017 at the Siena Short Course Twilight Meet at The Crossings.

The Saints will continue their Fall 2021 campaign in two weeks at the Jasper Fall XC Invitational, at the site of their only regular season meet of the Spring 2021 season. The event is set for Saturday, September 25 at Twin Ponds at The Farm in Montgomery, New York.
