LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Outdoor Track saw a new academic benchmark achieved prior to taking the track at the 2023 MAAC Outdoor Track Championships this weekend. Both teams saw 15 runners apiece named to the 2023 MAAC Outdoor Track All-Academic Team for a program record 30 total honorees, as announced by the MAAC on Friday morning.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at his/her institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. A total of 147 female and 143 male student athletes were placed on this year's Cross Country All-Academic Team.
The Siena women saw fifth year
Olivia Lomascolo named to the squad for a fourth time. Seniors
Elaine Atanasova,
Sydney Levison,
Delia McDade Clay, and
Sophia Vinciguerra were selected for the third time, while seniors
Keira Cohen and
Ashley Moskowitz joined juniors
Miranda Gilbert,
Katharine Hesler, and
Isabella Painter in making the team for the second time. Sophomores
Lizzie Brown,
Julia Caputo,
Keira Flaherty,
Claire Gardner, and
Christina Peppy earned MAAC All-Academic Team honors for the first time during outdoor track season.
The men featured seniors
Christopher Adamski,
Tommy Anderson,
Aidan Gillooley,
Matthew Laframboise, and
Nathan Poirier named for the third time. Juniors
Christopher DeForest,
Ben Guerin,
Killian McNamee,
Jimmy Smith, and
Bryan Spence took home the award for the second time, while junior
Tom Ragone joined sophomores
Jackson Cayward,
Collin Clinton,
Noah Greski, and
Nathaniel Sletten in earning OutdoorTrack All-Academic Team accolades for the first time.
The Saints are set to run at the 2023 Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Saturday and Sunday at Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
