LOUDONVILLE, NY – New Siena Men's Basketball Head Coach Gerry McNamara has announced the seventh official addition to his first Siena roster. Reid Ducharme, who spent his freshman season at Xavier University, has matriculated to Siena College.
 
"Reid can be a dynamic player," said McNamara. "He is a big-time athlete, really shoots it, and can guard multiple positions. Reid can be as good as anyone in the open court in transition. He has an incredibly high-level upside and loves to work. I'm really excited for Reid to be able to showcase his ability with us."
 
A 6-7, 200-pound guard, Ducharme arrives in Loudonville as a rising red-shirt freshman with four years of eligibility remaining. The Milton, Massachusetts native appeared in five games early during his rookie season at Xavier, scoring two points in nine total minutes of action. Ducharme averaged 8.5 points in a pair of exhibition games last summer for the Musketeers in The Bahamas.
 
A four-star recruit who was listed as the 117^th best player overall in his class by 247Sports, Ducharme previously starred for two seasons at the prestigious Brewster Academy in New Hampshire. A 2022-23 McDonald's All-American Nominee and Next Up Recruits Second Team All-American, he earned All-NEPSAC Second Team honors while leading Brewster to back-to-back National Elite 8 appearances. Ducharme averaged 11.1 points while shooting 37.7% from three-point range his senior season for a Brewster squad which boasted nine Division I commitments.
 
Ducharme ranked fourth on the Nike EYBL circuit, averaging 18.0 points for BABC. He recorded the highest single-game point total at the Peach Jam in the Summer of 2022 with a 42-point performance vs. Vegas Elite. His older sister, Caroline Ducharme, stars for UConn.
