Softball Adds Three Late to Incoming Class

Defending MAAC Champions Ink Trio to Class of 2028

LOUDONVILLE, NY - Head coach Casey Bump of the reigning MAAC Champion Siena Softball team announced the additions of three incoming Saints for the 2025 season on Wednesday, bringing the team's total to nine incoming players after the previous announcement of six

Cali DeLawder | Catcher | Hyde Park, NY | F.D. Roosevelt
DeLawder follows family footsteps by committing to Siena, as her mother is a 1998 graduate of the college. The Hyde Park, NY native was a six-year varsity starter at F.D. Roosevelt High School and spent a few seasons playing on the Empire State Huskies National Team. In 2021, DeLawder represented the Northeast in a home run competition in Oklahoma City. The backstop hit .707 last with eight homers and an .833 on-base percentage. Impressively, DeLawder didn't strike out once while helping her team reach the NYS Class AA quarterfinals out of Section IX.

Coach Bump on DeLawder: "Cali has a special swing. She has the potential to hit both for power and average and I believe that she could be an impact, middle of the order type of hitter.  Cali brings a very good glove and a strong arm to the catcher position which is always a position of need. She understands the game and is a natural competitor. It will be fun to watch her develop in Loudonville."

Ella Milante | Catcher | San Mateo, CA | St. Francis High School/Chapman University (NCAA DIII)
Ella Milante takes her talents to the Empire State from the Golden State. The California native transfers to Siena after playing for NCAA Division III Chapman University for the past two seasons. Milante appeared in and started in 26 games last season to help lead her Panthers squad to the NCAA Division III Tournament Regionals. She was a .275 hitter over her career that saw 56 games played, while posting 15 extra-base hits and 19 RBI. No stranger to the big stage, Milante's St. Francis High school team captured back-to-back Central Coast Section titles from 2021-22, as well as a NorCal Championship in 2022.

Coach Bump on Milante: "Ella is a transfer that brings two years of college experience with her.  She has made such a smooth transition to our program that it feels like she has been here longer than she has. She has a very good arm and has the potential to add power to her bat.  Most importantly she is easy to coach and has been eager to make adjustments to her game. I am very happy to have her join our program."

Karissa Rice | Infield | Coto De Caza, CA | Santa Margarita Catholic/St. John's University (NCAA DI)
The Saints landed another California native transfer in Karissa Rice after she spent the 2024 season with St. John's. While at Santa Margarita Catholic, Rice showcased her leather en route to earning Trinity League Defensive Player of the Year honors, and was also named an All-Trinity League Honorable Mention. Now a family affair at Siena, her brother, Billy Rice, is a member of the Siena Baseball squad.

Coach Bump on Rice: "Karissa also comes to Loudonville as a transfer, so she brings an understanding of the effort and dedication that it takes to compete at this level. She is athletic with a strong glove and will compete for playing time from day one. She is tireless in the weight room and conditioning program which is an important advantage. I am excited to see how Karissa develops."
