Logan Banek secured his second consecutive week of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekly awards, it was announced on Monday by the conference office.
Banek, a native of New Hartford, NY earned nods for both the MAAC Face off Specialist of the Week and the Rookie of the Week awards after following up with a nearly identical performance in the "X", winning 19 of 28 face offs and led the Saints with a team-high 12 ground balls again.
Banek added his first career goal off winning a face off when he raced down the field past the LIU defense for the score.
The product of New Hartford High School leads the MAAC in ground balls per game (10.00) and also in face off winning percentage at .653 (49 of 75).
Siena (1-2) will return to the field this Sunday on the road when it plays at Dartmouth (2-1) at 1 p.m. in Hanover, NH.
