Coach Gleason makes announcement; tabs long-time assistant

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena University Men's Lacrosse head coach Liam Gleason announced that he has promoted long-time assistant coach Tim Cox to be Associate Head Coach ahead of the 2026 season.

"Tim has been instrumental in guiding Siena Lacrosse to the top of the MAAC and helping us capture a MAAC Championship," said Gleason, who will be entering his eighth year at the helm of the Saints.

"He has an exceptional ability to develop and lead our offense, and he's one of the best young coaches in the game. We're fortunate to have him here at Siena, and this promotion to Associate Coach is a well-deserved recognition of his impact on our program!"

Siena is coming off a season in which it equaled its most victories (11) since 2014, defeating then #19/#16 and top conference seed Sacred Heart 12-8 in the championship.

The Saints earned a record haul of 13 All-MAAC awards including four major award winners.

Freshman Logan Banek became the sixth MAAC Rookie of the Year in program history and doubled as the MAAC Faceoff Specialist of the Year.

Pratt Reynolds was the unanimous choice for MAAC Offensive Player of the Year while Gleason was named the MAAC Coach of the Year.

Additionally, 23 student athletes from the men's lacrosse team were named to the MAAC All-Academic team.

The coach Cox-led Siena offense led the MAAC in goals per game (13.71), assists per game (8.71), points per game (22.41), shots percentage (.328), shots on goal per game (25.41), man-up goals per game (1.24), man-up scoring percentage (.412) and faceoff percentage (.589).

As a player, Cox was a former standout UAlbany midfielder. He led the Great Danes to three America East Tournament titles and a pair of NCAA Tournament victories. He collected America East All-Conference Second Team accolades while wearing the captain's "C" for his senior year in 2015. He finished his career with 40 goals and 12 assists for 52 points, adding 55 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers. In his senior season, he recorded at least one point in 16 of 19 games played.
